![]() ![]() The drama managed to top the Contents Power Index (CPI) rankings for the most influential dramas. Its early working title was Sensory Couple ( Korean: 감각남녀 RR: Gamgangnamnyeo), before reverting to the name of the original webtoon. ![]() Starring Park Yoo-chun, Shin Se-kyung, Namgoong Min and Yoon Jin-seo, it aired on SBS on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 for 16 episodes from April 1 to May 21, 2015. Some scenes were made only for them, only to cherish the two characters’ love and it was so precious.Sensory Couple, The Girl Who Sees Smells, Girl Who Sees Smell Ī Girl Who Sees Smells ( Korean: 냄새를 보는 소녀 RR: Naemsaereul Boneun Sonyeo MR: Naemsaerŭl Bonŭn Sonyŏ) is a 2015 South Korean television series adapted from the KTOON webtoon of the same title by Seo Soo-kyung a/k/a Man Chwi. I haven’t read the webtoon (is there eng ver of that?) so i don’t know the detail since most of time the scriptwriters do big changes to the original story. I mean, if you want to kill him off, then you could do something more. In the end the writer-nim made me so dumb and clumsy and killed him off like that…. It felt like the writer-nim didn’t know what to do with Chef Kwon. I’m not mad but I am mad, can you understand?) On the previous episodes, Chef Kwon was so clever and all of his plan had 0% failure rate but he so suddenly became so weak and stupid on his last days. There were so many holes in the last episode (again, i’m talking about the last episode. And i clenched my fists at the fact that Chun Baek Kyung was killed off like that. But it turned out that he actually wanted to protect Oh Cho Rim after he learned that his best friend, Chef Kwon, was the bar code serial killer. I bet you was so sure that the murderer was Chun Baek Kyung right? Because of the pilot episode they showed us his face as the person who chased after Oh Cho Rim. The scriptwriter fooled me for good, maybe all of us. The script towards the end disappointed me but i liked the first half of the drama because it was different and fresh. There are still so many unanswered questions especially about Nam Gung Min’s character, Chef Kwon. Why he became a murderer? What were his motives? Why he killed random people? Why he changed his target from Cho Rim to Moo Gak? And i thought Moo Gak said he would resign from his current job and be a diver (is that what you call it?) again? The story kept getting lost everywhere and then got lost for good at the end. For every different smell they gave different shape and color, making it look like they did their best to represent the smell which i liked so much. The CG was good and especially CG on ep 1 (or 2?) when Oh Cho Rim opened her eyes for the first time after the accident. He was extremely cute in those cute scenes he had in this drama. I prefer him in his Choi Moo Gak role instead of the role he had in Three Days and I Miss You. I’m not complaining i’m just pointing it out lol. But from I Miss You to Three Days and now Sensory Couple, he picked this detective-like role (police, special guard whatever you call it). I don’t know whether Park Yoo Chun only does this type of role or not. She was seriously great, drop-dead gorgeous, she proved herself that she deserved Oh Cho Rim role. She improved by a mile from her previous work i watched her on ( When A Man Loves). But in this drama she surprised me to the point i couldn’t believe that i was watching Shin Se Kyung. Shin Se Kyung was the main reason why i didn’t want to pick this up, originally, I think we all know why. And i don’t regret it!ĬAST + ACTING + IMPRESSION (8.3 out of 10) I didn’t have any expectation when i pick this up, I gave it a shot solely for my friend, but the pilot episode caught me attention in instant and the next thing i remember is, i marathoned the entire 12 episodes in just 2 days. I gave it a try and i liked the pilot episode and guess what? I finished this drama! *throws confetti* Whooo!! Still can’t believe that Sensory Couple bid their goodbye already. I didn’t want to watch this drama at first (me being very honest) but thanks to Stef, my dear friend, who recommended me this show. ![]()

I have to rely on Google Calendar email reminders to remember to take my chemo meds everyday and to remember my 4 CW skeds I have right now. YV5EN Edwin is probably right about his opinion, but after 16 years of CW I still haven’t gotten my brain to copy 40+ words per minute yet.I just finally made it to 23 wpm! I don’t live on CW 24/7 and if I did that would probably help me a lot, but my old brain doesn’t work all that great anyway. The only thing I don’t like about it so far is it won’t expand to full screen like CWGet will.Thought I’d share that info. Also, a friend of mine told me just this week about one he uses that is freeware called CW Decoder XP version 2.99 designed by WD6CNF and he says it works great.I just installed it, but haven’t really tested it enough yet to form my own opinion. You can download and use it for free for receive only and the only thing is if you close the program it won’t retain your settings unless you buy the license so you have to set it up again next time you use it. Julian, I have a hard time copying the 40+ wpm keyboard CW ops during the contests and Dxpeditions, but I’ve been using CWGet for decoding those guys for several years now and it works great! It’s not freeware, but I’ve been using it for free. But as a morse decoder pure and simple MRP40 is still the winner in my book. That is, after all, what it has been designed to do. This is perhaps understandable given that Skimmer is intended to be able to distinguish between multiple signals in a pile-up.ĬW Skimmer is the better program if you want to decode all the calls in a swathe of spectrum and if you want to link to your logging program so as to highlight new countries or prefixes and mark stations you’ve previously worked. CW Skimmer seemed more fussy and didn’t decode a signal unless you got it spot-on. It could track drifting stations and would adjust itself precisely to the signal if you didn’t click exactly on the trace. I also found MRP40’s AFC useful in locking on to signals. MRP40’s decoder is less laggy than CW Skimmer’s – text appeared sooner after it was sent. ![]() Skimmer also seemed on occasion to insert an spurious E at the beginning of some words or calls when I didn’t hear an extra dit. It decoded text more accurately and the spacing between words was better – CW Skimmer would often run words together then insert a space in the middle of a word. After listening to many QSOs I am still of the opinion that MRP40 is the best decoder. I ran both programs simultaneously decoding the same signal. A few days ago Paul PC4T commented to one of my posts that he thought CW Skimmer was better so I thought I would give it a try in case I was missing out. For several years now I have been of the opinion that the best Morse decoder for Windows PCs is MRP40 by Norbert Pieper. ![]() ![]() ![]() Macro buttons illuminate green when enabled and each one can be configured to perform up to 16. You get to witness one man’s slow descent into madness as he grapples with the situation in which he currently finds himself. The game’s goal is to tell a story more than anything, and so you shouldn’t expect many game elements to get in your way. There is some light puzzling in Lifeless Planet, but most of these puzzles consist of moving an object or two into place, and are very easy to solve. However, sound effects are pretty generic, with the occasional falling rock or creaking wood to attempt to startle you. The game is also fully voiced, with a mostly solo performance of the main character, talking to himself, but is pretty well done for an indie game. The soundscape is particularly moody, composed by Rich Douglas. The soundtrack in Lifeless Planet is also a highlight. Controls feel very rigid in Lifeless Planet, and you have a jetpack which only allows you to get a quick puff of air a few times in order to lengthen your jump. In fact, you move with the left stick, pan the camera with the right, jump with X, interact with a few objects using square, turn on your flashlight with R1, and walk slowly with L1. The control scheme is simple enough that I bet it would port over to Android and iOS nicely. Textures are a bit on the rough side, but environments are varied. So while graphics are serviceable, it mostly looks like a scaled-up mobile game. ![]() The result of a mostly one-man shop, Lifeless Planet was developed in Unity. The ending is a little too vague for its own good, and will likely leave many who only passively paid attention to the story scratching their heads. Unraveling the mystery is mostly done through picking up these recordings left behind by explorers before you who have long since moved on/likely died, and flashbacks/delusions experienced by the main character. While the high-level concept of being a pioneer who is stranded in a hostile new land is easy to grasp, the rest of the story feels rather uninspired – the Russians beat you to the new planet, through a portal of some sort. The story of Lifeless Planet is definitely one of its strong points, at least in theory. But once you arrive, you quickly realize that other people beat you to the punch, and that a cataclysmic event took place which appears to have wiped out most life, stripping the planet of its lush, bountiful biomes. A new space race began, and you were destined to be among the first humans to step foot onto this newly-discovered world. In a universe filled with countless trillions of stars, many of which harbor at least a handful of planets and protoplanets in nearly perpetual orbit, we were bound to find at least one planet full of life – and that’s exactly what we did in the story of Lifeless Planet. This matter tends to clump together, and it mostly forms the stars we see in the night sky. Yet, that empty space is occasionally occupied by, among other things, matter. We exist in a cosmos filled with mostly empty space. ![]() ![]() The life steal mechanic is the obvious standout here, against foes that can take you out with a few strikes. A charged attack thrusts you across the screen towards your foe, and fills a ‘bloodthirst’ bar if it connects, allowing you to move quicker and hit harder for a short time, ‘life steal’ lost health with further strikes, or trigger a damaging ‘bloodburst’ that exhausts the bar in one. The main character’s laboured walking speed is offset by a speedy dodge roll, which is tied to a slowly recharging stamina bar, unless that is you successfully roll through an enemy attack, which partially refills it instantly. ![]() Dark Souls veterans will relish the tension and the little risk-reward gambits in these encounters. The boss battles will make or break the game, in other words, and judging from the first three that appear in the preview, it’s got the balance right. But mostly Eldest Souls wants to ferry you from one god to the next, with a little sightseeing en route. Each of these characters – speaking in the vague riddles you’d expect from a Souls game – has their own optional questline, which can lead to rewards or different endings depending on how you interact with them, generally by choosing to hand over key items. Between epic confrontations, you’ll embark on brief stints of exploration around the ruins, absorb scraps of lore, collect the odd item and chat to a sprinkling of NPCs. Yet as in Titan Souls this is a compact, empty land where the only things to kill are the gods themselves. ![]() Indeed, while Death’s Door takes a much less serious path, Eldest Souls’ decaying citadel of imprisoned gods and buried rituals at times feels like a project to redraw Dark Souls in sumptuous pixel-art. And it’s a mantle that Fallen Flag seem to have assumed intentionally, rekindling that word ‘Souls’ in their debut title almost as a statement and a self-challenge to meet standards set not only by Titan Souls but the majesty of Dark Souls itself. In a way, then, it feels like we’re getting to see a fresh revival of that previous legacy and a new direction all at once. Fallen Flag Studio’s Eldest Souls feels like an expanded spiritual successor to 2015’s boss rush title Titan Souls, yet the developer of Titan Souls, Acid Nerve, is actually responsible for Death’s Door. There’s an added twist to this quirk of fate, too.
